Before starting the Potential Driving Instructors (PDI) qualification process, you will need to get an enhanced level criminal record check.
To apply for this, you will need to fill in a disclosure application form and send it to
Capita Recruitment Vetting Service (CRVS) - one of the Driving Standards Agency's (DSA) criminal record checks contractors.
To request a disclosure application form call the CRVS Helpline on Tel: 0870 850 2455.
Once you have returned this form, you will receive the disclosure report and reference number.
You will need to put the disclosure's reference number on your form to apply for registration as a PDI (ADI 3) - before you send it to the DSA.
You can do this online, or you can download the ADI 3 form from the DSA website
We offer help to prepare for the check test or to re-take the check test if your last visit with the SE examiner was deemed as unsatisfactory. It is often a lack of preparation or a lack of adequate lesson plan that will give a grade 3 or less.
Whether you are a newly qualified instructor or one with many years behind you and just want someone to take a look and to give advice on your lesson structure, give me a call me so I may assist you.
In my experience many ADI's just give a run through picking up faults as if the pupil is being examined on the test day. Please remember your job is to show your ability to teach and to pick up any faults committed and then to give a suitable remedy. Success and understanding these points will give a decent score with the SE examiner.
These techiques need practice to perfect but is the key to becoming a good Driving Instructor.
Any training is on a private basis and always one to one with the trainier. I also offer ORDIT training for any ADI who would like to improve his teaching prospects.
